In October 2000, the second round of minimalistic web-art competition <web4096> was launched. There were three categories: 1) WEB-ART, 2) FLASH-ART, and 3) JAVA-ART. All contributions were limited by the size of 4096 bytes. Quite a challenge. embed entered the competition with two works, both in FLASH-ART category: asteroids and resonator.

ASTEROIDS is the revival of one of the greatest classics in a history of computer games. Everybody knows them, everybody was amazed when they appeared for the first time many years ago. What nostalgia!



Perhaps the 1st place in FLASH-ART category of the second round of <web4096> could serve the idea of asteroids being not JUST a game..
